To the Editor:
I have been a member of the Sheriff’s Office for 30 years, worked under three sheriffs and seen many different changes from manual typewriters to computers and video cameras in the squad cars.
Being a sheriff 30 years ago is much different than being a sheriff now. The sheriff needs to be a businessperson. With a $9 million-plus budget, the sheriff needs to make sure that the money in his budge is spent wisely through out the year.
To do this you need to have the knowledge and the experience with the Sheriff’s Office. Scott McNurlin has that. Scott has proven his ability in seeking other funding sources to assist in the needs of the Sheriff’s Office.
When a new deputy is hired that deputy goes through several months of training before going out on their own. For the last 12 years Scott has been training under Sheriff Dean Albers to be the next sheriff.
Please support my wife and me by voting for Scott McNurlin for the next sheriff of Goodhue County.
