Letter: Hove’s record is good
Some people run for office because they want to be something. Others run for office because they want to do something.By: Elaine Thomforde, Red Wing, The Republican Eagle
To the Editor:
Some people run for office because they want to be something. Others run for office because they want to do something. Dean Hove is the latter.
I make this observation from experience. My husband viewed his City Council years the same way — as a call to service.
Dean chose to act as our advocate on the City Council and he has achieved great things. It is fair to say that there would be condominiums on the riverfront today if Hove had not been on the City Council to block them.
That one accomplishment makes Hove deserving of a special place in Red Wing history.
We really do not know what someone new would do in office. Dean has a record of low taxes, spending our money wisely and voting with us.
Four years ago, I endorsed Hove, saying Kenny would be proud of his service to Red Wing.
Today, I can only say that he would be even more proud and very pleased at how Dean has grown in office.
Please join me in voting to elect Dean Hove once again.
From this young man with so much promise, the best is yet to come.
