Letter: McNurlin gives of himself, time

To the Editor:

As parents of Scott McNurlin we have had the wonderful experience of watching him mature into a caring and giving person.

As a young man he excelled through hard work and determination — whether in academics, sports or anything he chose to do — and has carried that into his profession.

What impresses us most is how freely he gives of himself and his time. His strong leadership skills are evident by the numerous boards and civic organizations he has either chaired or been a part of.

Most recently he set the curriculum and taught the Criminal Justice classes at the local college where some students considered him one of the best instructors they have ever had.

We have always said that if we could have hand picked our children we could not have done as well as what God has blessed us with.

On Nov. 2, we will have the opportunity to hand pick the next sheriff of Goodhue County through the election process and we could not do better than to elect Scott McNurlin.

This letter may be perceived by some as biased because Scott if our son be we prefer to use the word “proud.”
