Letter: City is better, thanks to Hove

To the Editor:

I encourage the citizens to support Dean Hove for City Council. In my experiences with Dean he has shown an innate ability to connect with and listen to his constituents.

Being a businessman in Red Wing for many years, Dean understands the issues and struggles businesses face in these tough economic times. Dean has invested himself in the community by continuing to grow his business within the city and serving the citizens on City Council. No easy task, but one he has done admirably.

Many of you may remember the riverfront issue a couple of years ago. When an outside developer came into town touting plans to privately develop riverfront property right along Bay Point Park, the citizens of Red Wing stood up resoundingly and said “No!”

For nearly two years this battle for our most precious natural resource waged on and Dean stayed steadfast in his belief that the citizens of Red Wing had spoken. He was a key player in preventing this unwanted development and preserving Red Wing’s riverfront for generations to come.

Red Wing is a better place because of Dean’s efforts and his ability to connect with and listen to citizens continues to make him the best candidate for City Council.
