Letter: Go with seasoned prosecutor

To the Editor:

I am writing in strong support of Steve Betcher’s candidacy for Goodhue County attorney. As a Goodhue County commissioner, I witnessed Mr. Betcher’s development from a young attorney to a seasoned prosecutor, expert legal adviser and skilled senior manager.

Mr. Betcher’s knowledge of the law and his ability to communicate that to county officials benefits us all. He keeps us safe and ensures that county government follows the rule of law.

Mr. Betcher consistently demonstrates humility, integrity and a strong work ethic. He strives for fair and ethical administration of justice. He has hired, trained and managed an exemplary staff.

Mr. Betcher’s skills were not, and could not have been, learned overnight. Rather, they were earned through decades of dedicated effort and service on his part. Mr. Betcher has my unqualified support and I believe he has earned the support of the citizens of Goodhue County.
