Letter: Sachen sticks to his convictions
It has been impressive to watch and listen to John Sachen these past months.By: Marcy Doyle, Red Wing, The Republican Eagle
To the Editor:
It has been impressive to watch and listen to John Sachen these past months. But it shouldn’t surprise us, because he has grown from that bright fourth-grader I first knew to a reliable, honest, fun-loving gentleman of today.
John’s life experiences make him well-suited to earn a place on Red Wing’s City Council. From Sunnyside School, through old Central High and recruitment by North Dakota State University, he was well-prepared for a stint in the U.S. Navy as sonar supervisor aboard the submarine USS Houston; his six years speak volumes about his fortitude.
His later business background, including services and management roles, are useful as he studies economic development and other issues. John has a common-sense approach to all issues.
This I know about John: He has the courage of his convictions. Is comfortable in his own skin. Is honest and forthright with a gentle side. Is a dedicated candidate with a great sense of humor.
Sachen will never be a desperate candidate, which he stated publicly on Channel 6 when he said vote, even if you vote for Dean Hove, vote. What a generous man.
Voters of Wards 1-2, join me and a host of others who will vote John Sachen Nov. 2.
