Letter: Kelly brings outside perspective

To the Editor:

We have known Marty Kelly and his family since he was young living in the Welch area. We watched him develop into a fine young gentleman when he would work for us at the ski area during his high school days.

We were delighted that he became a police officer with the city of Red Wing and again watched him grow throughout his career. Our delight turned to joy when we heard that Marty was going to run for Goodhue County sheriff. There is no finer gentleman to take the Sheriff’s Office into the next decade.

We believe he is in a far better situation because he has not been involved directly through the sheriff’s department; therefore has no loyalties within and will be able to make changes that will benefit the department as a whole, not just a few people. This will in turn benefit the entire community of Goodhue County. Please support and vote for Marty Kelly for sheriff on November 2nd and make a difference.
