Letter: Betcher is best choice for our county attorney

To the Editor:

Steve Betcher, our current county attorney, was born and raised on his family’s farm in Hay Creek. As a lifelong resident of this county, he is dedicated to the people and the community he serves.

The duties and responsibilities of his office are far-reaching including all county departments as well as the Red Wing Police Department.

I have known and worked with Betcher since 1984 when he became assistant Goodhue County attorney.

During my tenure as Red Wing’s chief of police and also as Goodhue County sheriff, I had many opportunities to observe and evaluate his performance.

It was evident to me that Steve was committed to performing the duties of his office with wisdom and integrity. He was always available for consultation and it is my understanding he continues to do so.

I strongly urge you cast your vote for Steve Betcher for county attorney on Nov. 2.

He is a proven leader that will continue to manage the Goodhue County Attorney’s Office in a responsible and professional manner.
