A Minneota, Minn., man involved in Saturday's Highway 35 crash in rural Hager City died of his injuries, Pierce County authorities said.
Donald Opdahl, 65, died Monday as a result of injuries in the crash after he and the female driver were airlifted from the scene.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, authorities were called to the crash at 5:39 p.m. at Highway 35 and County Road VV near the Ralston Purina plant. Both patients were listed in critical condition Sunday evening at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The driver, Janice Pedersen, 62, Apple Valley, Minn., was ejected during the crash, in which the vehicle rolled several times, according to deputies. Pedersen was upgraded from critical to serious condition Monday.
The crash remained under investigation on Monday. Ellsworth and Red Wing firefighters assisted at the scene.
