Area football: Elmwood 12, Pepin-Alma 6

The Eagles drew first blood Friday in Pepin, but the Raiders quickly answered to tie the game at six. Elmwood punched in another score in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Game recap: The Eagles drew first blood Friday in Pepin, but the Raiders quickly answered to tie the game at six. Elmwood punched in another score in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

"It was a very good football game tonight," Pepin-Alma coach Mike Olson said in an e-mail.

Olson added that Pepin-Alma had a couple drives that stalled inside the 30-yard line.

Difference maker: Elmwood running back Jesse McKune broke two touchdown runs of 20-plus yards.

Top players: Danny Kujak gave Pepin-Alma a 6-0 lead with a 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The senior finished with 83 rushing yards and 31 yards on three punt returns. He finished second on the team in tackles with seven.

Ryan Erickson led the Eagles in rushing yards with 91 on 17 carries. Jacob Lerum dropped back 17 times and completed five passes for 50 yards.

Next up: Pepin-Alma (3-4 overall, 2-3 South Lakeland) at Prairie Farm, 7 p.m. Thursday
