To the Editor:

When deciding who to elect Goodhue County sheriff, we should opt for the well-rounded candidate ready to lead the department.

As hard working citizens, we know candidates are not simply hired on paper-based knowledge; a resume is used to check qualifications, but the interview is used to find the person right for the job. The best candidate is the individual poised to bring success to the position.

Marty Kelly is a unique and exciting individual capable of leading the sheriff’s department based on knowledge gained through a lifetime of working directly with citizens.

Marty doesn’t just know what works in theory; he knows what makes a tangible difference in our daily lives.

Since sheriff is a publicly elected position, our sheriff should be available to discuss and explain pertinent issues.

Marty’s ongoing presence at countless local events and meetings shows he’s ready to continue acting as a servant of the people when elected sheriff.

Marty is the dynamic leader we need in charge of the county’s law enforcement units.

But don’t take my word for it. Give Marty a call or stop him on the streets; Marty is there to hear your concerns and act in your best interest.
