Letter: McNurlin feels called to serve

To the Editor:

I have been married to Scott McNurlin for almost 20 years and probably know him better than anyone.

Scott’s qualifications and experience as a proven leader at the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office speak for themselves. But what I would like to share with you has more to do with the heart of Scott McNurlin.

I am always amazed at how honest, fair and ethical he is and with all of his accomplishments he remains a very humble servant.

Do we always see eye to eye? Of course not, but Scott is always the calming force. He constantly impresses me with how he treats people with respect and has the ability to communicate well under any circumstance.

Scott has worked for the sheriff’s department for 27 years because he feels that is where he was called to serve. Could he have made more money elsewhere? Probably, but that never crossed his mind because he always felt privileged to serve the people of Goodhue County.

Honest, ethical, respectful, articulate, humility along with experience and education are very important qualities for a sheriff. Elect Scott McNurlin for sheriff because Goodhue County deserves the best.
