Letter: Hove has shown ability

To the Editor:

I am supporting the re-election of Dean Hove to the City Council in Wards 1 & 2.

Hove is blessed with intellect and common sense, a rare combination in life, and rarer in public service. Hove understands the complicated public policy verbiage, but he speaks the language of the average person.

Hove is always the genuine article. I like that. I see no reason to change.

Hove’s ability to connect with people one on one sets him apart as a leader Red Wing can ill afford to lose. His unpretentious style — call him Dean, not Councilman Hove — creates an approachable tone that encourages a free exchange of ideas and fosters a spirit of partnership that brings out the best in everyone.

A call or e-mail always gets you an answer and is often all it takes to get a problem solved. No council member in recent history has worked so hard to fulfill the needs of his constituents.

Hove is our best council member and the best friend average Red Wing citizens ever had at City Hall. When we elect someone who turns out to be this good, we should keep him.
