ELMWOOD, Wis. – Plum City again used powerful serving to put away a Dunn-St. Croix opponent.
Plum City improved to 2-0 in the league after a 3-0 sweep of Elmwood on Thursday.
The Blue Devils easily won Game 1 by a 25-13 score and led 13-4 in Game 2. The Raiders rallied to within two points at 14-12, but the home team’s rally lost steam as Plum City outscored them 11-3 for a 25-15 win. After trailing early in Game 3, Plum City’s serving overpowered the Raiders for a 25-18 win.
“Our girls serve very hard and very accurate,” Plum City coach Nanette Murray said. “We’ve worked hard to get better at serving and needed to use that to score points and we’ve done so.”
Plum City tallied 24 aces for evening. Morgan Sweeney had six while Bri Sigler and Marah Boyer each had five. Boyer was the team’s kill leader with eight while teammate Jordyn Mark had six kills and a block. Taylor Ike had a team high 14 digs while Sweeney had 16 assists.
Plum City will have a chance to go 3-0 in the conference when they host Glenwood City on Tuesday.
