Estonian artist visits Pepin

A ceramic artist from Estonia is in residence during September at the Lake Pepin Art & Design Center in Pepin.

A community welcome party for Jarona Ilo is planned at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the home of Diane Millner. Pizza will be provided; people should bring a dish to share.

Anyone planning to attend is asked to notify Millner or Richard Spiller at 715-673-4212.

Ilo was invited to Pepin by the art center. A portion of the costs for the residency is being supported by grant funding from Estonia; local support is from community residents.

She is using one of the center’s kilns and has a temporary studio space in the old Amish store at 309 Third St. An artist talk is planned.
