To the Editor:
Recently, a young man came to our door seeking a donation for high school athletics. (I believe it was for football.)
I commend him for his dedication and spirit.
However, this came about just shortly after it was reported a district school official is to be granted a 17 percent pay raise (R-E, Sept. 1).
That would put him well above $100,000 a year in salary.
At the very best the contribution my wife and I gave the young man was our choice; the other “contribution” was not.
