The 149th Goodhue County Fair is one that will long be remembered. The 95-degree weather and 5 inches of rain will not soon be forgotten, nor the bridge being out.
Even though you may wonder how the fair turned out, we can report that it was a good fair. We only had to cancel one grandstand event and the others were well attended. People were amazed at the numbers of 4-H animals and other exhibits. The open class exhibits also had a good representation.
We are so fortunate to have so many willing volunteers and we heard many good things about the courtesy carts both from the riders and the drivers who enjoyed getting to visit with the riders.
We are already planning for next year, which will be the 150th county fair. If you have some ideas you’d like to see done, please visit with a Fair Board member. Watch the papers for up coming events. This is also your county fair.
Thanks to all who donated, visited, volunteered and exhibited at the 2010 fair.
