To the Editor:
Dean Hove has brought integrity, consistent sound judgment, clear thinking, and a genuine concern for the people of Red Wing to our City Council. He is a friendly sensible person whose financial expertise has been invaluable as the recession caused the city to become short of funds.
Dean has shown us he can live within a budget. He did not make up for declining revenues from the state by adding to the burden of local taxpayers, as nearly 80 percent of other Minnesota cities did.
We need his frugal approach to spending now more than ever. Dean will continue to save Red Wing money.
Anyone watching the City Council meetings knows he asks good questions and requires that everyone is allowed to be heard before decisions are made.
Hove’s votes on the City Council reflect a commitment to average citizens. Please make the extra effort to vote in the primary election Tuesday. It would be a shame to lose Red Wing’s best City Council member to low voter turnout.
