Letter: Hove understands what we face

To the Editor:
When I moved here, councilman Dean Hove showed up at my door to welcome my family. I was impressed.
I was also encouraged by his recent answers in the Republican Eagle (R-E, July 21). Dean Hove was the only one who committed to no tax increase on the financially weary residents of Red Wing.
Hove’s opponents do not seem to be paying attention to city affairs. Only Hove answered the question: “What’s a decision the council has made in the past year that you disagreed with?”
Wouldn’t an outsider — passionate for change —jump at the chance to say what they disagreed with, and what they would have done differently? Instead, we got silence from one candidate and the other went on about another subject.
I recommend looking back at the answers in the Republican Eagle before you make you primary election choice.
Dean Hove understands what average people are going through and makes the extra effort to help.
