Letter: Sachen will safeguard city taxpayers’ money

To the Editor:

I will vote for John Sachen for Wards 1 and 2. John took on the issue of Mt. Carmel and saved the taxpayers $1 million. That is what I call leadership.

The council has spent $140, 000 to find out if they could put a bike path from Bay Point and Colvill Park.

Now, the council wants to spend $155,000 for three lots that the taxpayers are going to pay for. The city doesn’t need the land.

I know John Sachen will give us leadership. We need change in Wards 1 and 2.

Thanks to Mike Schultz for dissenting from voting. That money could go for one more police officer or play ground equipment for A.P. Anderson Park that we have been looking for — for five years.
