Simonson Law opens

Attorney Ranae Simonson has started up a new family law practice in Red Wing. Simonson Law opened for business July 1 inside the Red Wing Pottery Mall in Suite 336.

Simonson said she will focus on family law, helping clients with divorces, child custody and grandparents rights and other issues.

"I enjoy family law because you're dealing with people who are sometimes at the worst part of their lives and you help them with that," she said.

Simonson moved with her family to Red Wing in 2006. Prior to that the Eagan, Minn., native worked as a law clerk for a federal judge, studied at William Mitchell and worked for a law firm, practicing family law.

"I got a lot of legal experience working during the day, going to school at night," she said.
