Willis R. ‘Bill’ Hoffman, 72

Willis Roger Hoffman, 72, of Pepin died Thursday, July 15, at his home. He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Plum City, Wis., son of Lester and Bernice Edbloom Hoffman. Bill attended school in Maiden Rock. Following school, he worked for Johnson Produce picking up eggs from farmers. He also worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a section laborer for twenty-seven years.

On Feb. 2, 1958 he married Norma Ann Milliren. They lived in Pepin all their married life. Norma died Feb. 18, 2007.

Bill was an active member of the Lund Mission Covenant Church, where he sang in the church choir and was on the church board for many years.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on Sundays. Bill was the announcer for the Pepin tractor pulls. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survived by son, Brad (Robin) Hoffman of Balsam Lake, Wis.; daughter, Rhonda Hansen of Andover, Minn.; grandchildren, Eric Hoffman, Krystal and Nicholas Hansen; brother, Don (Lucille) Hoffman of Red Wing, Minn.; sister, Phyllis (Louis) Rotola of Anderson, S.C.; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Norma Hoffman; parents, Lester and Bernice Edblom Hoffman; father- and mother-in-law, Dallas and Irene Milliren; three brothers-in-law; one nephew.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Lund Mission Covenant Church in rural Lund. Pastor Gregg Satterberg officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
