In their final home game of the season, the Red Wing Black 14U softball team took down Prescott 12-6 Wednesday.
Laura Chalmers, who is 11-4-1 on the season, pitched the first four innings and struck out nine Prescott hitters. She has fanned 84 batters on the season.
Red Wing's relievers, Hannah Walch and Maddie Faas kept Prescott in check.
Red Wing got singles from Chalmers, Walch, Hailey Kuhl, Mary Bender, Hailee Johnson and Jordan Munson. Faas added a double. The balanced team is hitting .321 on the season.
"This is a solid group of team players and we have many players who can handle multiple positions," Red Wing coach Cheryl Borgen said. "Combine that with their great attitudes and hard work, and they are an extraordinary team to coach."
Red Wing (14-8) will play a doubleheader at Kasson-Mantorville on Wednesday before competing in the 14U B state tournament July 17-18 in Monticello, Minn.
