Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist from Pepin was killed when he hit a minivan at an intersection on Highway 35 Thursday evening. Tony Preuhs, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motorcyclist from Pepin was killed when he hit a minivan at an intersection on Highway 35 in Isabelle Township Thursday evening. Tony Preuhs, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said a minivan operated by Robert Kadow, 66, Maiden Rock, pulled out from the stop sign on County Highway D at Highway 35 into the path of the motorcycle around 7:10 p.m.

Preuhs, who was southbound on Highway 35, hit the minivan and was ejected.

Kadow had minor injuries and his 14-year-old passenger, a grandson, was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation. Assisting the sheriff's department were Ellsworth Area Fire Department, Red Wing Fire Department paramedics and Medical Examiner John Worsing.
