6 advance to District Soccer Shoot

Ari Mollgaard, Chloe Struss, Seth Cushing, Logan Peterson, Tom Mattfield and Aiden Coyle advanced to the Elks Metro District Soccer Shoot by finishing first in their age group at the Red Wing Elks Soccer Shoot on June 6. They won in the following categories: Red Wing's Struss, 7-and-under girls; Red Wing's Mollgaard, 8-9 girls; Red Wing's Coyle, 7-and-under boys; Hager City's Peterson, 8-9 boys; Red Wing's Cushing, 10-11 boys and Spring Lake Park, Minn., resident Mattfield, 12-13 boys. There were no entrants in the two oldest girls age groups. Thirty-three youths participated in the annual event at A.P. Anderson Park. The district competition is July 18 in Faribault, Minn. There the local winners will compete against the winners from four other lodges in the Metro District for the chance to attend the State Soccer Shoot in August.
