A crumpled helicopter was all that remained Monday after it crash-landed in a corn field on 320th Street Way in Vasa Township.

The pilot, Thomas W. Parker, of Hutchinson, received minor injuries in the crash, which occurred at 6:30 p.m. A passenger, Dorothy Gunderson of Silver Lake, Minn., was not injured, the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday morning.

Parker, who was en route from Hutchinson to Cannon Falls, told sheriff's deputies that the aircraft began to vibrate abnormally, so he attempted to land it in the cornfield.

The crash reportedly damaged a 10-by-10-foot section of Dennis and Gary Samuelson's farmland.

Parker reported the crash at 10:56 p.m.
