Woman, 62, critical after Pierce County motorcycle crash

A Hugo, Minn., woman was seriously injured Sunday in rural Pierce County when she was ejected from the motorcycle she was riding.

Regions Hospital staff said Mary Fashner, 62, was in critical condition Monday afternoon.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Fashner was on County Road O near Highway 35 at 1:57 p.m. when the motorcycle left the road and entered a ditch. The motorcycle struck a barbed-wire fence and hit a culvert, where Fashner was ejected.

She was wearing a helmet and protective clothing, according to deputies. She was transported to Regions by Red Wing ambulance. Also assisting were Red Wing firefighters and Ellsworth first responders.
