Game recap: Jason Hoffman’s line drive in the bottom of the ninth inning skipped under the Hager City right fielder’s glove and rolled to the wall. The gaffe allowed the runner from first to score and gave the host Bucks a victory Sunday.

“It probably should have been caught,” Skeeters player/manager Cory Brathall said.

Difference maker: There wouldn’t have been a runner on first if the Skeeters had been able to turn a double play earlier in the ninth. Instead, they had to settle for a fielder’s choice.

Top players: Chase Melstrom, Elliot Foley and Henry Jaeger each had two hits for Hager City. Foley and Melstrom both drove in a run while Melstrom and Jaeger each stole two bases.

Next up: Plainview at Hager City (0-1), 7:30 p.m. Friday
