Reason for optimism

Bay City will have a familiar face in the lineup this year as Bump Ulvenes returns to the Bombers after spending a year away from the game. The Bombers have acquired a bevy of young talent in Hayden Flack, Travis Balster, Tanner Eggenberger, Levi Kuesel, Justin Lance and Brock Strain.

Pressing question

Will catcher Tim Eaton return? Manager Monte Strain said that Eaton is yet to make a decision if he will play this season.

“Tim has been one of the best catchers in our league for many years,” Strain said.

Bombers CF Steve Bowe

Heading into his eighth year with the Bombers, Bowe expects his team to make a push for the playoffs. He shared some more info:

The camaraderie of the game: “The group of guys I’m with have a good time win or lose. Just the idea of playing baseball, I've always loved to play the game, the whole atmosphere I like.”

Rivalries with Prescott, Red Wing and Plum City: “Even though they may get heated, everyone is friends in the end. Prescott is always a rival, we've got a few guys that played for Prescott and they have some guys that played for Bay City.”

Expectations for the season: “I guess defense is the main thing I'm looking at. Also it seems like in practice we've been hitting the ball better, a lot of guys have been working in the offseason.”
