Burning ban called off
Goodhue County’s burning ban has been lifted.
Goodhue County’s burning ban has been lifted.
The ban – put in place last week amid dangerously dry conditions – ended Tuesday, Goodhue County Sheriff Dean Albers and Department of Natural Resources staff decided. The county saw steady rain most of the day Tuesday.
Residents who had permits suspended under the ban can resume burning until the permit expires, Red Wing Fire Chief Tom Schneider said. Residents can again begin applying for new burning permits, and recreational fires can resume, he said.
