Three teenagers were arrested Sunday after they allegedly set fire to Barn Bluff.
Firefighters alerted police after seeing people lighting the bluff ablaze. Officers spotted four people on the bluff, two of whom were observed lighting fires.
When officers went up the bluff to stop the suspects, one of them allegedly threatened to sic an accompanying pit bull dog on police. That suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, wildfire arson and an apprehension-detention order. He was transported to Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing, along with a 17-year-old, who was being held on suspicion of wildfire arson.
A third person, Marcos Lopez, 19, 1107 S. Park St. No. 3, was arrested on suspicion of wildfire arson.
The call coincided with the report from an East Fourth Street resident, who complained that people were setting fires and hitting golf balls from atop the bluff.
Police said the three teens denied hitting golf balls.
