March 13 will be Family Fun Night. The gyms and racquetball courts will be available 5 to 8 p.m. The climbing wall and water slide will be open 6 to 7:30 p.m. Family Fun Night is open to the community. The cost is $10 per family, free for members.
Maple syrup day
Families are invited to Camp Pepin March 27 for a day of maple syrup making and fun. Eat pancakes with homemade maple syrup, try your hand at archery, climb the tower and make some arts and crafts. Activities will run from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. This is a free event, but registration is required. Contact Joetta Oien at the Y.
The sports for March are floor hockey on Tuesdays and archery on Thursdays. After-school sports are open to all grade 6, 7 and 8 boys and girls. Registration is required.
On Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in March the lap pool will be available for people to try kayaking. Environmental Learning Center staff will teach various skills and answer questions.
Bring your own kayak or use one of ours. Registration and payment are required. Cost is $8, $5 for YMCA members.
Golf season is around the corner and golfers can get their swing into shape by participating in Pete Hendrickson’s Golf Simpler. The program will be held March 25, April 8, 15 and 22 at the Y. Two time periods are open, 7 to 8 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. Registration and payment are required. The cost is $40 per person, $30 for YMCA members.
