The Wingers took fifth out of five schools in the Missota Conference meet on Friday. Red Wing scored a 122.65; Northfield won the event with a score of 145.925.
Kassidy Coplan had a huge day for Red Wing as she finished tops on her four categories. Her 8.25 on the floor exercise was her season best.
"Kassidy did a great job, in our last home meet she had sprained her big toe on the vault and it was tough for her because she hadn't been able to practice a lot of the moves because of the pressure on her foot," Red Wing coach Beth Mayer said. "It is still not healed all the way."
Senior captain Kirsten Bluhm was Red Wing's top finisher in the vault with a season best 8.8.
The Wingers will head to Stewartville for the section meet on Feb. 20.
"We're just trying to get girls as healthy as we can," Mayer said. "It is going to be tough, we're just trying to give our best performance of the year in that meet.
