Dance: Cannon Falls wins HVL Championships

The Cannon Falls dance team took first in both high kick and jazz at the Hiawatha Valley League Conference Championships Friday at Cotter High School in Winona.

Last season, the Bombers also took first in both events.

In high kick, Lake City took third place while Zumbrota-Mazeppa and Goodhue took fifth and sixth, respectively.

In jazz, Z-M took fourth place.

In addition to being the first year the event was held on a Friday, it was the first year that the conference decided to recognize all-conference and honorable mention all-conference dancers.

Cannon Falls dancers Rachel Brage, Jackie Qualle, Jordan Blakeslee and Jenna Gesme were named HVL All-Conference in high kick, and Brage, Alana Gustafson, Sarah Jensen, Casey Johnson were named HVL All-Conference for jazz.
