Letter: Rental code is ill-conceived
By: Richard W. Johnson, Wacouta, The Republican Eagle
To the Editor:
One would have thought that with the lack of success in the courtroom and the obscene cost of lawyers fees accompanying it ($170,000 for the city and probably an equal amount for those litigating on behalf of landlords), the city would have lost their zeal in trying to snoop into taxpayers closets, nightstands and medicine cabinets, as sought in the ill fated, poorly conceived and clumsily drafted Landlord/Tenant Inspection Ordinance.
Either these people have too much time on their hands or have prurient interests that are best left unexplored.
