Kenneth Jeske Jr., 52, of Red Wing, Minn., died peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 19, surrounded by family, friends and his best friend Shoey, his faithful cat.
Ken was born April 15, 1957, in Red Wing, to Kenneth and Catherine Jeske. He married Debra Ryan on Sept. 4, 1976. Ken worked at Red Wing Shoe Company from 1976 until 2007. He enjoyed cooking, brewing beer, hobby farming, boating, and playing his guitar. For many years, he played guitar with a local band.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Jeske of Red Wing; daughter, Bridgette Jeske of Hopkins, Minn.; son, Matthew Jeske of Red Wing; mother, Catherine “Katie” Jeske of Red Wing; brother, Gene (Annette) Jeske of Red Wing; two sisters, Annette (Brad) Johnson of Hager City and Dorinda (Andrew) Hogan of Fort Scott, Kan.; mother-in- law, Grace Ryan of Red Wing; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy (Deb) Ryan of Hager City, Sue (Rob Wilson) Ryan of Red Wing, JoAn (Jon) Bittner of Crookston, Minn., Bob (Carol) Ryan of Red Wing and Tim (Kirsten) Ryan of St Louis Park, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Jeske Sr., and his father-in-law, Thomas Ryan.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Christ Episcopal Church, in Red Wing with the Reverend Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, with a 6:45 p.m. prayer service at Mahn Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
