Xcel Energy recently donated $5,000 to both the Sheldon Theatre and the Anderson Center.
Sheldon officials will use the grant for children’s matinees and to keep performance costs affordable.
The Xcel Energy Foundation is also making a $5,000
grant to the Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies
to support general operations.
“Given the current economic crisis, which has endangered the livelihood of thousands of arts and cultural groups throughout the U.S., I cannot begin to express how important this grant is to us,” said
Robert Hedin, Anderson
Center founder and executive director.
The Red Wing Food Shelf is the recipient of a separate Xcel Energy corporate giving program. The organization has received a donation of $800 to support local food needs during this holiday season.
“At Xcel Energy, we believe that we have a responsibility to make a positive impact in all we do — as an employer,
community advocate, environmental steward and good neighbor,” said Pam Gorman, Xcel Energy community relations manager.
