An encore presentation of ‘Entr’Acte,” a movie filmed in Red Wing last summer, is planned at the Sheldon Theatre at 7 p.m. Dec. 16. The romantic comedy stars Michelle Meyer, Tim Bowes and dozens of other Red Wing residents, and features gorgeous views of the community.

Candles for Caring

A Candles for Caring ceremony is planned at St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park Chapel. People can light a luminory or a candle for a loved one. Afterwards, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., there’ll be Holiday Dazzle entertainment and food. People should park in the Red Wing Tech parking lot and take the complimentary limousine service to and from the event.

Holiday Train

The CP Rail Holiday Train makes two stops in the area. From approximately 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., it’s scheduled to stop in Wabasha at the Gambia Avenue crossing near Bruegger Park. From 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the train should be at Hearth & Home Technologies, 800 W. Jefferson St., Lake City. The train brings with it live entertainment and Santa. Everyone is asked to bring a cash or nonperishable food donation, which will go to local food shelves.

Holiday matinee

A Holiday Movie Matinee for children and families and the Second Saturday screening will take place today at the Lake Pepin Art & Design Center, Pepin. The matinee features will be “Varmints” by Marc Craste and Sue Goffe, a short animated fable; and “Christmas Story,” a Christmas film from Finland that reveals Santa’s childhood and tells how he came to be Santa. The evening film will be a Flyway Film Festival feature, “The Other Side of Paradise,” written and directed by Justin Hilliard. It’s a comedy about a girl on a journey of self-discovery. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Christmas concert

Zumbrota Community Choir will present a Christmas concert featuring six area choral groups in the fellowship hall at United Redeemer Lutheran Church. Other performers will be the Lamplighters and the choirs of Lands/Stordahl Lutheran, First Congregational, St. Paul’s Catholic and United Redeemer Lutheran churches.

Each group will sing, then the massed choir will present three songs; directing will be Keith Wartsbaugh of the community choir. A bluegrass/ gospel band also is on the program.
