Eleanor J. Dibble, 94, of Cannon Falls, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Angels Care Center following an extended stay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 123 N. 3rd St., Cannon Falls, with the Reverend Roger C. Claxton officiating. Burial will be in Cannon Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials preferred.
Eleanor Jane Dibble was born April 19, 1915, on the home place in Stanton, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Robinson) Daniels. She attended country school and later Cannon Falls High School. Following her schooling, she helped raise her siblings and worked for a time as a waitress. She was united in marriage to Willard A. Dibble on Dec. 13, 1941, in Minneapolis. The couple farmed in the Cannon Falls area for many years. She worked alongside her husband for many years at the Cannon Valley Fair, had been a 4-H leader for many years, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Episcopal Church and was very active in the Guild. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with gardening.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, William "Bill" of Cannon Falls, James "Jim" of Bloomington and John and Mary Dibble of Cannon Falls; four grandchildren, Scott (Charlotte) Dibble, Mark (Kelli) Dibble, Justin (Nicole) Dibble and Laura (Cary) Freeberg; nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, William "Bill" Daniels of Cannon Falls, Roger Daniels of Inver Grove Heights, Lowell "Dick" Daniels, and her sister, Peggy (Willard) Emery, all of Stanton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; brothers, Forest, Eugene "Gene" and Henry Daniels; sister, Marion Dack; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Dibble.
