Rollin Walter Brown, age 101, of Bay City, Wis., died Sunday, Nov. 15, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
Rollin was born on Oct. 17, 1908, in Carrington, N.D., the son of Frank and Nellie (Hamel) Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, being honorably discharged in 1945. Rollin married Madelyn Laughlin in 1941 in Carrington. In May of 1952, he and Madelyn moved to the town of Hartland, where he farmed and lived ever since. Rollin enjoyed playing dart ball and square dancing.
Rollin was a member of Hartland United Methodist Church, Jamestown Lodge #6, Jamestown, N.D., and Hancock Lodge #229, Ellsworth, Wis., Free and Accepted Masons, Eau Claire Consistory, and Order of the Easter Star, Chapter #116, Ellsworth, serving as worthy patron and other positions.
Rollin is survived by his brother, Donald Brown, Conroe, Texas. He is further survived by nieces and nephews and friends.
His wife, Madelyn; parents; four brothers; and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Rollin will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the Hartland United Methodist Church, Bay City. Rev. Shelly Lyksett will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, where there will be a 7 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star service.
