Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Schuppel, 83, Red Wing, died Monday, Nov. 9, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.

She was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Burel and Katherine (Crabb) Allen. She attended schools in Indianapolis and worked as an elevator operator for a short time. She married Eugene Schuppel on Nov. 2, 1945, in Indianapolis. They lived in Winona for seven years and moved to Red Wing in 1952. She worked at Gamble's, Montgomery Ward and Sears. She was a member of Church of Saint Joseph and the Homemakers Group. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and visiting with friends at Camp Brigadoon.

Survivors include three children, Larry (Vonne) Schuppel of Wayzata, Sandy (Don) Bohlken of Hastings, and Tracey Schuppel of Red Wing; four grandchildren, Chad Schuppel, Kami Leach, Chantalle and Chanae Nelson; four great-grandchildren, April and Alex Schuppel, Ashton Vicory, and Nicole Leach; one brother, Don (Judy Robson) Allen of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Burel Jr.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Church of Saint Joseph with Father Allen Courteau, OMI, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Winona. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday with parish prayers at 5 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
