Lake City man, 39, killed in crash
A Lake City man was killed Tuesday after a semi-trailer struck his pickup truck in rural Wabasha County.
A Lake City man was killed Tuesday after a semi-trailer struck his pickup truck in rural Wabasha County.
Magdaleno Chavez, 39, died at the scene, Wabasha County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Joe Modjeski said in a news release. The crash occurred at 12:18 p.m. at county roads 2 and 33.
Modjeski said preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the semi, Kenneth Tlougan, 46, Oronoco, Minn., failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection. The semi is owned by Wescott Orchards.
The crash is under investigation by the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
