Red Wing offers educational opportunities for all ages through its public and parochial schools.
Red Wing School District No. 256 has two grade-level elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school, plus a Montessori program and early childhood education. Kindergarten classes are all day, every day.
Approximately 2,800 students K-12 are educated with the support of over 450 staff members; 200 are full- or part-time teachers. Approximately 90 percent of the district graduates continue their education beyond high school. For more information, go to www.redwing.k12.mn.us.
In addition, the Goodhue County Education District operates three programs out of the former Jefferson School, and there are five parochial schools, an extensive community education program, and a technical college.
