LAKE CITY — St. Charles claimed an early lead Friday against the Tigers, but then the game turned into the Rachel Tackmann Show. The senior standout poured in four goals to lead Lake City to a 7-2 victory, evening its record at 1-1 on the year.

Tackmann's first goal came on a long free kick one minute after the Saints scored. Her teammates took care of the rest in the first half.

Sophomore Anna Johnson put the Tigers ahead with 12 minutes remaining in the half before senior Danielle Kehren added two more goals before halftime, with the second coming on a penalty kick.

"We did a great job putting pressure on them the entire time tonight," Lake City coach Mark Spence said. "We talked about starting strong and staying focused on what we needed to do. I was wondering how we would respond after they scored first, but it didn't faze our girls."

Tackmann scored her second goal 30 seconds into the second half. Johnson set up her third goal five minutes later and she pounded home a rebound to round out her night.

Stephanie Zeigler benefitted from the offensive outburst to earn the win in goal. She made four saves.

Lake City travels Monday to face Dover-Eyota.
