Unoccupied house catches fire

The upper level of a custom-built home went up in flames Tuesday on Ridgeview Drive South in Florence Township.

The upper level of a custom-built home went up in flames Tuesday on Ridgeview Drive South in Florence Township. Goodhue County sheriff's officials said a bank owns the home, which is for sale and unoccupied. A neighbor called authorities just before 10 a.m. when she saw smoke rolling out of the house. Lake City firefighters responded. Deputy state fire marshal Bruce McLaughlin said Wednesday it's too early to say whether the fire was considered suspicious. Jen Cullen/Republican Eagle
