Twenty Xcel Energy employees from community relations and Prairie Island nuclear plant on Friday (July 31) unload luggage, tents and other items from four large trucks for the nearly 1,000 bicyclists who participated in the Multiple Sclerosis Society's The Ride Across Minnesota. The Xcel Energy volunteers, who responded to a United Way of Red Wing request, worked at the Welch Ski Village from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. "Xcel Energy's success is directly related to the vitality of the communities we serve, and it's our mission to use our knowledge, resources and skills to meet the needs of our communities," said Pam Gorman, Xcel Energy's community relations manager in Red Wing. "Among the ways we help build stronger communities is through our volunteer efforts, including this opportunity at TRAM."
