Marvin W. Hoeft, 75, of Frontenac, passed away Tuesday at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.
Marvin W. Hoeft, 75, of Frontenac, passed away Tuesday at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System. Marvin was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Red Wing to Walter and Margaret (Steffenhagen) Hoeft. Marvin graduated from Central High School in Red Wing in 1950.
@death of veteran: He joined the Army in 1950 and served during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952 and returned to the Red Wing area. He married Marjorie Witt on Jan. 1, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac. He worked for Interstate Motors and Amdahl Chevrolet in Red Wing for 42 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran, Frontenac. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, woodworking, flying and restoring airplanes.
@Normal: He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three daughters, Marlene Paez of Manhattan, Kan., Pam Steffenhagen of West Des Moines, Iowa, Pat (Tim) Schmitz of Red Wing; two sons, Michael (Debra) Hoeft of Frontenac, Robert (Carol) Hoeft of Frontenac; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Maynard Hoeft of Hastings, Minn.; and sister, Joyce Maloy of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan Hoeft.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Frontenac, with the Rev. Christopher Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in Frontenac Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson Chapel, Red Wing. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Brian Steffenhagen, Mitchell Hoeft, Steven Schmitz, Brady Hoeft, Spencer Hoeft, Jonathan Schmitz, Michael Paez, Andrew Hoeft, Brandon Schmitz, Charles Hoeft, Jason Hoeft, Blake Hoeft.
