Grant and Calli Ekblad of Red Wing and Steve and Lori Thoms of Hager City announce the engagement of their children Emily Ann Ekblad of Red Wing and Matthew Philip Thoms of Hager City.

She earned her associate’s degree in veterinary technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn., and works as a veterinary technician at Hastings Veterinary Clinic.

He earned his associate’s degree in carpentry in 2005 from Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical. He is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, where he is majoring in industrial design and minoring in photography.

A May wedding is planned at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
