The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation will hold a wind energy forum from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Forum highlights include community wind economics, business models and finance, land leases and other legal concerns, siting and permitting, wind energy case studies and environmental and health considerations.
Panelists will include Charlie Daum of Geronimo Wind, Mark Rathbun of Great River Energy, Pat Louwagie of Hoffman & Brobst, John Schladweiler from the Minnesota Department of Natural resources, Carl Herbrandson with the Minnesota Department of Health, Chuck Burdick and Tiff Thompson with National Wind and Ron Peterson of Westwood Professional Services.
The forum is open to the public and will be held at the Wanamingo Community Center, 401 Main St. A light meal will be provided at no charge.
