A Red Wing man was critically injured after his motorcycle pulled out in front of traffic Thursday and was struck broadside on Highway 61 in rural Goodhue County.
The driver of the motorcycle, Mark D. Larson, 23, was listed in serious condition Monday at St. Marys in Rochester, where he was recovering after the two-vehicle crash. He had pulled over onto the shoulder before re-entering traffic at about 4:37 p.m. in front of a pickup truck carrying three passengers, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The other driver, Michelle Glander, 36, Lake City, and her passengers – all of whom were seatbelted – were unharmed in the crash, troopers said.
Larson was not wearing a helmet, according to reports.
The State Patrol said it was unknown if alcohol was a factor with anyone involved in the crash.
